Support - Outlook Express 5 (Windows)

Follow these instructions to configure Microsoft Outlook Express 5 to receive e-mail from your Tabletoptelephone account:

To set up Outlook Express 5, follow these easy steps.

Click Tools and choose Accounts from the menu.
Click New.
Choose POP account type and then click Assist Me or if you are familiar with setting up email accounts, click OK which will open the Edit Accounts screen.
The Edit Accounts screen can be seen at the end of this walkthrough, or click here.

Enter you name in the box provided, this name will appear on your emails and is not case sensitive.

Click Next, (the right-facing arrow in the bottom right-hand corner).

Enter your email address.

Click Next.

Enter the email server names.
The POP3 server is pop.tabletoptelephone.com
The SMTP server is smtp.tabletoptelephone.com

Click Next.

In the Account ID field enter your username.
In the Password field enter your password

Click Next.

Enter an account name. The name can be anything you choose.
This example is for display purposes only.

Click Finish.


If you chose to go directly to the Edit Account screen:
In the Account Name field, enter Tabletop POP3, although this can be anything you wish.
In the Name field, enter your actual name. ie. John Smith.
In the email address field, enter your email address.
In the Account ID field, enter your Username.
In the POP Server field, enter pop.tabletoptelephone.com
In the password field, enter your password.
And finally in the SMTP Server field, enter smtp.tabletoptelephone.com
Click OK.
Outlook Express 5 is now set up for you to send and receive emails.


Outlook is now configured to receive e-mail from your Tabletoptelephone account.  If you have a dedicated or DSL connection, you will automatically retrieve your e-mail from the Tabletoptelephone Internet mail server when you launch Outlook.  If you have a dial-up connection, you will have to connect to the Internet first, then launch Outlook and receive your e-mail.
